Grant Requests

All grant requests must be received in writing and can be submitted to either our Houston or Monterey office. Our board meets approximately four times and year, but grants requests are generally reviewed within thirty days of receipt. The best way to communicate with us is through email.

Please be aware that we have a specific educational mission and that we do not support programs dealing with health care, abuse, environment and many others.

GRANT REQUEST CHECKLIST

This checklist should be used to complete your grant request. Please note that we are a small foundation and that our mission is “to contribute to worthwhile activities whose goals are the support, development and encouragement of education, primarily to socially and economically disadvantaged youth” grades 6 through 12. We will consider, to an extent, other programs that are educational and cultural.

In addition, a new program will not be considered for a grant of over $10,000.00 in the first year, so please do not ask. Programs that have been previously funded, and reviewed for the current year, may apply for grants up to $20,000.

All of the following must be mailed to our Houston address before our board will consider your grant request:

1. A background of your organization
• Year founded
• Purpose of your program(s)
• Tax exempt status, 501(c) letter
• List of supporters

2. What do you want the grant for? Please be specific.

3. How much are you requesting?

4. Who else is supporting this request?

5. Copy of your current operating budget.

6. Any other information you believe would help in making a decision.
